38LX - Sea Scribe
Built in 1985 for Don McGraw of McGraw-Hill Publishing. Now goes by the name Blue Feather.
I think all boatbuilders have that one boat they love and dream of, the boat that is their favorite. For Carroll Lowell, Sea Scribe was that boat. He called her "the boat he has always wanted to build. Pretty much free reign on quality and materials and the time to execute it properly."
"[Timber] and its near-sister, Sea Scribe, are in my opinion the epitome of the Maine coast lobster yacht." - Art Paine, Maine Boats & Harbors, June/July 1992
FROM OWNER ALAN VAN WINKLE:
"Blue Feather is still turning heads - she is quite a craft as you well know."
"Leaving for Stuart, Florida on Nov 12th. Will live on board for four months. Then back to Maryland and on to the Cape by June 1st."
"We are now back on board 'Blue Feather' for the rest of the winter - to the West Coast Feb 1st - all systems are good."
"We had a great cruise - she is a wonderful craft."
"On a scale of 100 'Blue Feather' is 100 plus!"
